San Diego, CA — Philter Labs — the first and only technology-enabled filtration company to pioneer a new category of micro-sized personal air filters to eliminate the impacts of secondhand smoke — is partnering with global reforestation non-profit One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every Philter product purchased on Earth Day. Cigarette filters are the most common form of litter worldwide. Roughly 4.5 trillion cigarette filters are made of cellulose acetate, a type of plastic that can take over a decade to decompose and can also hamper plant growth. Philter Labs is helping to lead the effort for for a cleaner air and environment through their products and this new partnership

One Tree Planted (OTP) is an environmental charity dedicated to making it easier for businesses and individuals to give back to the environment to create a healthier environment and help restore forests. In 2019 alone, OTP planted four million trees across North and South America, Asia and Africa. For each dollar collected, donations are pooled and the funds are sent to its reforestation partner, enabling them to cover the costs required to plant trees.

The one-for-one partnership will take place on Earth Day for 24-hours and will plant a tree across the United States and the Amazon for each Philter product purchased at no extra cost to the consumer. Consumers can now cut down on single-use plastics and move away from “throwaway culture” to adopt more sustainable vaping habits by using the reusable silicone filters that Philter Labs has made available for their customers.
